EMC is expected to announce general availability of ApplicationXtender 6.5 in April 2010. Among the most exciting new features available in 6.5 is embed ed Information Rights Management (IRM). IRM allows dynamic control and management of information by enabling content owners to decide who gets to view, edit, print or email documents and who does not. Now integrated into ApplicationXtender 6.5, IRM polices can be configured in App Gen (AX Administration) providing dynamic control of your organization’s content even after it has left the corporate firewall.

As mentioned in previous announcements, the end of life for ApplicationXtender version 5.3x was on June 30th 2009. The next update to ApplicationXtender will be version 6.5 instead of the previously announced version 6.0 Service Pack 1.
